The powers of the National Land Commission are stated under Section 6 of the National Land Commission Act.
These powers include:
- To gather any appropriate and relevant information including the demand of reports, records, documents and information from any state organ.
- To compel the production of information and documents stated above where it considers necessary.
- To hold inquiries for the purpose of performing its functions under the National Land Commission Act.
- To take any measures it considers necessary to ensure compliance with the principles of land policy set out in Article 60(1) of the Constitution.
